Morocco’s traditions and prospects

At the Hotel Slon in , the all-day bilateral meeting “ meets ” took place under the auspices of the Embassy of the . The high guests from and experts from different fields presented to the Slovene public ’s constitutional changes, her position in the , and also addressed possibilities of economic cooperation between and .

The conference “ meets ” was opened by H.E. Dr. Omar Zniber, Ambassador of the to and the Honorary Council of the to , Janez Škrabec. This was followed by speeches on current topics by Prof. Mohamed Benhammou, the Head of the African Centre for Strategic studies, Safae Idrissi Sijilimass from the Moroccan Development Investment Agency, Mohamed Ouzif from the Moroccan Automobile Industry Association, as well as Mohamed El Haouari from the National Agency for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency.  The conference was also enriched by the contributions of Prof. Dr. Peter Novak, Dean of the Systems and Technology College of Novo mesto, and Dušan Bušen, Director of the Automotive Cluster of Slovenia.

The meeting “ meets ” was concluded with a Morocco Gala evening, which offered a true Moroccan experience to the guests present. After the speech by the Honorary Consul and Ambassador of the , the guests were enthralled by the fashion products of acknowledged Moroccan designer Noelle Ouaffaa, who draws skilfully from traditional dresses to create modern fashion trends.  With the filigree attention she pays to every detail and the harmonious impact of her work, she has fascinated fashion shows all over the world. After this fashion feast for the eyes, the guests tasted first-class Moroccan food: it is not for nothing that the Moroccan cuisine is listed among the world’s most delicious and popular cuisines. A performance of two belly dancers followed, accompanied by the Moroccan music band Shalaban. And when the well-known Slovene musicians Miha Debevc and Tomaž Rožanec stepped onto the scene, the Moroccan musicians joined them without hesitations and enthralled the audience with their “fusion” improvisation.

The evening ended on an enthusiastic note as the guests had tasted the refined Moroccan culture and traditions in a modern manner.
