The Chairman of the Managing Committee in Stilles Aleksander Polovič, Riko’s Director Janez Škrabec and the mayor of Sevnica Mr. Srečko Ocvirk met at the Sevnica castle today to sign the annex to the contract for furnishing the entire prestige Kempinski Hotel in the capital of Belarus, in Minsk. This project will be Stilles’s largest project by value and work.
This year Riko will finish the Kempinski hotel in the historical centre of the capital of Belarus and hand it over in turnkey stage. In the further stages the designed multifunctional hotel complex will also include apartment buildings and offices and contribute to the further development of highest rank hotel activities and start a high-rank business hotel tourism, most probably on the highest level in Minsk and Belarus.
Right here in Minsk Riko is running the largest Slovenian construction project abroad and as general contractor on this project strives to include as many strong Slovenian components into the performance of this project as possible. In this spirit Riko managed to successfully integrate and lead all participants in this project including project leaders, interior designers and others and merge their ideas and work with the project requirements and the investor’s expectations. Based on a competitive offer, a high-quality show room and excellent technical solutions, all confirmed and approved by the Kempinski operator, the HBA interior design studio from London hired by the investor and the investor himself, another Slovenian company was chosen to participate in this project and eliminate the cut-through competing European companies. The Stilles company from Slovenia convinced the subscriber with their competitive offer, proposed technical solutions and knowledge on complex hotel engineering processes. The investor’s representatives visited Stilles’s manufacturing plant in September 2012 and before disposing the final decision they paid a visit to Palais Hansen Kempinski in Vienna to see Stilles’s work in an actual Kempinski hotel environment.
The President of Stilles’s board Mister Aleksander Polovič pointed out when signing this contract that the Kempinski hotel in Minsk is going to be the 8ht hotel they have furnished. “We accepted Riko’s invitation, joined the project’s developmental process in its early stage and participated in the preparations of technical basics and plans. We have also prepared and installed two show rooms on site. Our willingness to follow the standards and the logic of the performance process Kempinski has required and our technical and personnel potentials, references and engagement in the developmental process have proven to be our biggest preference. The Belorussian investor decided to entruste us with the furnishing of all hotel rooms.”
The Kempinski hotel has 197 hotel rooms, 161 of which are standard rooms, 35 suites and a presidential suite. The entire interior of the rooms will be furnished by STILLES from Sevnica. The hotel has also foreseen a SPA, conference center and a business area. The set deadline was set for April and the contract value adds up to 11 million euros.
Riko’s director Janez Škrabec pointed out that »Riko’s mission besides complex projects on the territory of the former Soviet Union and the Former Republic of Yugoslavia involves also active inclusion of strong Slovenian components into large and referential projects. “I am convinced that just like the Peter I hotel in the centre of Moscow or the Sveta Petka hydroelectric power plant in Macedonia, the Kempinski hotel complex will proudly carry the stamp of excellence of the outstanding Slovenian manufacturers”.
Besides an annex to Kempinski’s initial contract Riko and Stilles have also signed a letter on long-term mutual cooperation in the field of hotel engineering. Riko included Stilles in its Peter I 4 **** hotel project in the centre of Moscow and now they will be working together on the Kempinski project in Minsk where Riko and Stilles will work hand in hand with some of our highly valued Slovenian companies such as Marmor Hotavlja, Klima Peter and Eurolux.
