E. Vaino as head of the Rus-Slo Business Council
At the Founding Assembly of the Russian-Slovenian Business Council, which took place on Monday, 11 April 2011, at the Chamber of Commerce of the Russian Federation in Moscow, Eduard Vaino, the vice president for international relations and cooperation with shareholders of the company AVTOVAZ, was elected as President of the Council mentioned, a pendant of the Slovenian version.
At the Founding Assembly of the Business Council, Eduard Vaino pointed out that "AVTOVAZ has had extensive and long-term business experience in working with Slovenian partners and that this mutual cooperation will also carry on." Of all Avtovaz’s largest current Slovenian partners, the companies that stand out most are PPG Helios and Riko, which are cooperating with the factory named Čečenavto, where LADA cars are produced. The Government of the region and the Slovenian Ministry of Economy have already signed a memorandum on cooperation, which relates to business development and to the production of components for AVTOVAZ cars.
Eduard Vaino also added that and are connected by their long-lasting and multilateral friendly, political, economic and cultural relations. Vaino pointed out that "Our country is traditionally already one of Slovenia’s ten most important economic partners as, in the year 2010, trade turnover between the two countries increased by 36%, reaching 1.2 billion EUR, which is not only proof of recovery after the crisis but also of a serious deepening of economic, political and human connections".
The Founding Assembly of the Russian-Slovenian Business Council was attended by Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Russian Federation, Georgij Petrov, the directors of sectors from the Russian Chamber of Commerce and representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
