12. 10. 2011 Letters of intent have been signed
We are speedily becoming recognised in Ukraine as a supplier of technological equipment. Within the framework of the visit by the president of of - Dr. Danilo Türk, accompanied by the Slovenian economic delegation, Janez Škrabec, director of the company “Rico”, signed two letters of intent in to carry out two major business transactions in .
Today, Mr. Janez Škrabec, the director of the company “Riko”, signed a letter of intent with Mr. Gennadiy Kernes, the mayor of , for the re-engineering of the waste management system in ; he also signed a protocol on further business cooperation with Mr. Viktor Subotin - General Manager of the company “Turboatom”. These were signed in the presence of Dr. Danilo Türk - President of the and Governor Mikhail Dobkin – Head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration.
Through this project of re-engineering of the waste management system, we are going to improve the waste management system in the city of Kharkiv, build a modern sorting facility for separating secondary raw materials from municipal waste, build a new modern waste landfill that meets European standards, a modern leachate (wastewater) collection system and a rainwater harvesting system; we are also going to install a degasification system and landfill gas collection system. As a part of this project, we are going to build a 6 MW landfill gas power plant and provide the equipment for it. We are going to take on this project of modernizing and upgrading the waste management system in the second largest Ukrainian city of as a general contractor. The contract is expected to be signed sometime by the end of 2011 and the completed project should be handed over to the investor in 2013. The estimated project value is approx. 25 million EUR.
After having signed these two contracts (for the supply of technological equipment; more here) with the company “Turboatom” from this year, we are going to continue our strategic collaboration in the future in accordance with the previously specified protocol. Our company has become globally recognised as a leading manufacturer of steam turbines and other equipment that is installed into hydro, thermal and atomic power plants across the globe. In accordance with the signed protocol, we are going to take part in the modernization of the foundry in Turboatom and, in cooperation with Slovenian partners, in the modernization of the thermal treatment processes for castings and forgings; this includes modernizing the existing equipment and supplying new technological equipment. The scope of these projects anticipated to be realized in 2012-2013 is estimated at 10 million EUR.
We are pleased that, due to our references, our high-quality products and the maintenance and repair service we offer in , we have become recognised as a strategic supplier of first-class technological equipment for the Ukrainian industry. This year, we have already signed four contracts to supply technological equipment to the company “Hydrosila”, which engages in manufacturing hydraulic units for the market of the former Soviet Union, to the company “Turboatom”, to the company “Vaz”, which is recognised for its designing and manufacturing of hydraulic components, and to the company “Ukrlomprom”, a leading Ukrainian company for the collection and processing of secondary materials. These companies are also going to make our strategic cooperation stronger by ordering new supplies in the future.
