The Foundation Stone for the Volkovo Waste Water Treatment Plant
The foundation stone for the waste
water treatment plant that Riko will build with the Hidroinženiring company was
laid by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Nikola Gruevski,
in the presence of the Mayor of the Gjorče Petrov municipality, Sokol
Mitrevski, the Minister of the Environment and Physical Planning, Nedžat
Jakupi, and the Director of Riko, Janez Škrabec.
Riko and its Ljubljana-based partner
Hidroinženiring, d. o. o., were selected in the tender for the construction of
a turn-key waste water treatment plant in the Gjorče Petrov municipality in Skopje. The project is
financed by the Ministry of the Environment and Physical Planning of the Republic of Macedonia while a portion of the funds
was contributed by the Slovenian Centre for International Development and
Cooperation. The waste water treatment plant, which we began building at the
start of December, will be completed in 2012. It will be one of the most modern
treatment plants for municipal waste water in the Republic of Macedonia.
The Volkovo waste water treatment plant
that will incorporate quality and efficient technologies that will prevent the
danger of waste water spilling from individual septic tanks into the
groundwater or watercourses and will efficiently and in a controlled manner
treat the waste water coming from the communities of Kisela Jabuka, Stopanski
Dvor and Volkovo.
The treatment of municipal sewage water
prior to its release into watercourses is highly efficient and contributes
greatly to a cleaner and friendlier environment. Riko will use its extensive
know-how and do its best to build the Volkovo waste water treatment plant with
a high level of quality and efficiency in order to supply the people in the
Gjorče Petrov municipality with clean water.
